The entire club is closing in on "live-fire" engagement with the opposition. This is not a drill. This is what you trained for. This is Top Gun.

It's on, like Donkey Kong
- Iain Carmichael

Dear Sandy Baysiders,

After a couple months of fairly intensive behind the scenes planning, our new season at HKU Sandy Bay got off to a flying start on 26th August.  In the usual unforgiving weather conditions for this time of year, we had over 600 players from age 4 to 18 going through their first training session of the new season. Meanwhile, the seniors have been in intensive pre-season training since the beginning of July - goodness, how times have changed!

For those eagled eyed members, you will have noticed the ‘Clubhouse’ at Stanley Ho has had a face lift over the summer, and is now gleaming and fitted with a much needed new sun shade.  Other major developments over the summer have included our new club-wide registration system and new kit which will be come out to all over the coming weeks.

With the expansion of the club to include the senior section, we have also welcomed into the HKU Sandy Bay family a new General Manager, Grant Beuzeval.  Together with club Administrator, Eleanor Cherry, and Senior Head Coach, Brett Wilkinson, and the rest of the coaching crew at seniors, youth and minis, we are in an extremely strong position to go from strength to strength both on and off the pitch.

Over the coming months we will have a number of events and initiatives kicking off, including our first full Club Day on the 29th September and our annual minis festival on the 18th November, which will be attended by over 4,000 players from Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia and Macau.  We hope to welcome as many players, parents, coaches and sponsors as possible to these great events.  More details to follow in the coming months.

Finally, we look forward to our Premiership side kicking off the seniors season on 22nd September at Kings Park and wish them all the best for the season. I hope to see you all at our Club Day on Sept 29th at Aberdeen Sports Ground (details below) and look forward to tackling this season with your continued support.
