The Herbert Smith Freehills HKU Sandy Bay Vikings face the Societe Generale Valley Knights at their home pitch at Happy Valley. With a storming performance against the Tigers the previous week, coaches Thierry and Ian look for another win. With the premiership Bay side playing against The Valley in the earlier fixture, the Vikings will be edged on with a strong support present. During the week of training, focus was of keeping offensive structure and intensity intact and improving defensive structure and fitness.
The Vikings led by the usual Jonathan Cimmerbeck, along with the guidance of Jacob Rumball. With Lawrence Tuck out with Injury, Aman Gangar takes the loose head position along side Callum Tam and Jacob Rumball. Thomas Guimbault fills the engine room with Tala Toma, with James Rees away with the HK 7’s team. Frank Cartwright makes a start for the Vikings at open side flanker, backed by French Flares Jules Galley and Felix Bravi. Cole Mosychuk sits on both benches of the premiership and premiership A team. The back line remains strong with the usual rapscallions, apart from Ed Nethersole starting as fly half with Jonathan Poon absent. The bench sits the big three: Hugo Denness, Victor Thomazo and Jeff Chin and Vikings debutant Joel Skipper.
With the Knights sitting one place above the Vikings, the Vikings will be looking to strike early and keep attacking the fringes.
Come down and support the Vikings at Happy Valley at 2:30pm!
