Under blue skies at Sandy Bay, the U16s recorded a pair of famous victories to conclude an emotional week. Sporting black arm bands and observing a minute's silence on Remembrance Sunday in honour of Coach Graham Hedley, the boys made us proud.
Sport brings us together and brings out the best in us. We have watched this group grow from boys to (almost) men and marvelled at how they have handled themselves this week, individually and collectively. It has been so difficult but they have lifted each other and in turn, lifted all of us. Coach Graham's imprint is all over them.
Team 1 ran out easy winners against an overmatched Valley team in a display of composed but stylish rugby. Team 2 fought hard all the way through and eventually prevailed in more of an arm wrestle of a match vs a tough Lions team. A great performance by all and a real team spirit on show throughout, in front of a large crowd of Sandy Bay friends and family. Two more Ws but more importantly, a fitting tribute to a great man.
