Bay U18 Boys blast off to a bumper victory!

Sunday's action saw HKU Sandy Bay US18 boys lay down 7 tries against Kowloon Rays with two tries in the first quarter.

The first came out of excellent action across the backs, Chun Hei touching down, but awarded a penalty try following a high tackle which he shrugged off with aplomb. Again using the space in the width, Oscar "OG" Green cut through the opposition to take the second try – the first of his hattrick!

A number of handling errors from both sides saw an unusual number of scrums, with the pack working hard to regain possession. An excellent steal from the back of the line out from our newly elected captain Ushaan Turel handing off to Chun Hei for his second try.

The dominance of the forward pack was evident from the fourth try – line out, maul and driving Kowloon before popping the ball to OG's waiting hands. Cracking conversion from Max.

The crowd were on the edge of their seats for the fifth try. Excellent use of width driving the ball all the way to the line. Some slippery hands brought about a scrum on the 5m. The power of the units pushed Kowloon off the ball and turned it over, Kyran Lacey deftly whizzed the ball up the back line for OG's hattrick!

The sixth try came from the surprised hands of Joseph "Lionel Richie" Sinclair in his debut for the Bay. The look of shock on his face as the ball bounced straight into his hands was overcome by a determined run foiling attempts to trip him before crossing the try line and placing the ball.

If six tries were not enough, the final blow was dealt to Kowloon with a power run from Noah "Teddy" Green, dragging four players behind him before passing on to Jacob Tsui for a fantastic finish from Matisse Guillot who's almost slow motion fall from a tap tackle saw him score between the posts before converting.

43-7 victory. Well done lads!
