We hope, in turn, we can provide an element of normality

Last Sunday Sandy Bay gave a warm welcome to some new players to the club. The club is providing a number of community places to children who are either below the poverty line in Hong Kong or are currently under review for ‘refugee’ status for a variety of reasons. This review process can take a year/years and during this time the parents and their children’s lives are in limbo; unable to work, with limited access to schools, and are not able to join clubs and sports, etc. Most of the children are very limited in what they can enroll in as they do not have any HKID nor money while they wait for the outcome of their cases

In offering places to these children to join rugby training, we hope, in turn, we can provide an element of normality to their lives during a difficult period. We look forward to seeing these players enjoy the many benefits that rugby has to offer in terms of ball skills, fitness, teamwork, and friendship.

We would like to thank Wika Rawson a parent of U16B for starting this initiative.
