With Super Saturday happening over at Hong Kong Football Club, the Herbert Smith Freehills HKU Sandy Bay RFC Vikings were missing key players in their clash against table leaders Natixis HKFC Dragons. With Ian King out, Jacob Rumball took to the helm. Web Vueti made the Vikings debut from the considerably small bench. The Vikings were still eager to tussle with Football Club.
Football Club was first to hit the Vikings with a quick two tries, the Vikings return with a try and the game was 12-5. Unfortunately, the comeback and turn of pace could not be sustained and the Dragons turn up the heat. The referee let Vikings off a little by ending the game 10 minutes sooner, the final score was 89-12. Truly a somber time to be a Viking.
With both Premiership and Premiership A Sandy Bay teams sustaining their biggest defeat on the same day against the same club, they have to look forward and solve their problems. The Vikings look to Saturday against the Bloomberg Hong Kong Scottish Nomads at Aberdeen Sports Field with a 4:30pm kick off.
