The Herbert Smith Freehills HKU Sandy Bay RFC Vikings faced the Bloomberg Hong Kong Scottish Nomads at one of their few home games of the season. With Jak Lam being substituted on early in the prem game and Benjamin Davey suffering an injury in the prem game, coach Thierry Barot had to make last minute changes to the game plan. With Ian King out of the remainder of the season, Canadian Jacob Rumball will take over for the captain duties. Thomas Gibb made the Vikings debut at 12, alongside veteran Jonathan Cimmerbeck and Nathan Ameeuw made his debut from the small Vikings bench.
Scottish were able to show dominance over the the Vikings, finish the game at 31-40. Tries came from Jeffrey Chin, Carl Chambers, Web Vueti, Guy Spanton and Nathan Ameeuw. Ed Nethersole converting 3 out of 5 tries. The Vikings sustain Injuries over the weekend with Jules Galley suffering broken ribs and William Spence suffering from a neck injury, both will be out for next week fixture. Looking back at the game, the Vikings player with true passion and strength. Slowly, the hill will be climbed.
The Vikings look forward to facing the Borrelli Walsh USRC Tigers 2 back at Aberdeen sports ground on the 2 of February, before the Chinese New Year break. Kick off at 4:30pm after the premiership game.
