Dominate performances shows the Vikings topple the knights

Herbert Smith Freehills HKU Sandy Bay Vikings vs Societe Generale Valley Knights.

After the strong performance against the USRC Tigers 2 the previous week, the Vikings still had some kinks to work out. Training was focused on around fitness and defence, while coaches Thierry and Ian still focusing on keepings the Viking's blade sharp. The Vikings walked into the castle ready to take on the Societe Generale Valley Knights.

The Vikings led by the usual Jonathan Cimmerbeck, along with the guidance of Jacob Rumball. With Lawrence Tuck out with Injury, Victor Thomazo takes the loose head position in his rugby career along side veterans Callum Tam and Jacob Rumball. Thomas Guimbault fills the engine room with Tala Toma, with James Rees away with the HK 7’s team. Frank Cartwright makes a start for the Vikings at open side flanker, backed by French Flares Jules Galley and Felix Bravi. Cole Mosychuk sits on both benches of the premiership and premiership A team. The back line remains strong with the usual rapscallions, apart from Ed Nethersole starting as fly half with Jonathan Poon absent.

The game started off well with Tomek Tsang scoring within 3 minutes of kick off, Ed Nethersole was unable to convert the extra points. Valley hit back with a converted try before the 10 minute mark, Frank Cartwright dotted down for his first try for the vikings side with the kick too wide; the score was 10 - 7 to the vikings. The knights score a converted and unconverted try brining it to 10 - 19. Cole Mosychuk, off the bench, scored before the half time whistle and Ed Nethersole slotting the extra 2 points, brining the score to 17 - 19.

With the second half starting, tries came in from Frank Cartwright, Albert Renividaud (first try of the season) and Jules Gallay, with Ed Nethersole slotting 2 out of 3 kicks. The knights hit back with a converted try, brining the score to 36 - 26 to the Vikings. The Vikings turn on the heat and score two more tries via Canada's most eligible bachelor and lumber jack Cole Mosychuk, with Ed Nethersole converting one of the tries. With the final whistle blown, the score was 48 - 26 to the Vikings.

Coyote's Man of The Match: Frank Cartwright
