Season is underway with big turn out on opening day

Considering the conditions, this was a cracking first session and we look forward to many more

The conditions certainly weren't ideal for the seasons' opening day of the Mini and Youth sections but under the billowing clouds of typhoon Bailu, the enthusiasm and energy of 500 keen young rugby players could not be spiritually dampened.

Senior players from the Men’s Premiership team and the Women’s team were on hand to assist with welcoming the players and families back to the Bay, help distribute the new kit and coach the on-field drills and activities.

There was a lot of positive feedback about the design of the new reversible playing shirts from players, parents and sponsors.

Unfortunately, Bailu eventually struck hard with thunder, lightning and torrential sideways rain as the U14’s took to the pitch at 11am.

Many thanks to all those that turned up on this initial event. Our season is underway at the Bay!

See you all next Sunday for the first official training sessions for all age groups. Those that did not yet receive kit, can collect on this day.
