It was amazing seeing the children enjoying the experience. As a club, there are many ways we can support our less priviliged neighbours and give something back to the community. So that's what we are going to do.

On the Sunday of the 2019 HK Sevens, we donated tickets to some of the children of the Heep Hong Society so that they may have a first-time experience of something so magnificent.

The Heep Hong Society is a leading children education and rehabilitation organisation committed to helping children and youth of diverse needs. They have recently opened a Sandy Bay facility that supports up to 180 children and their families.

Sandy Bay General Manager, Grant Beuzeval, was positive after a recent visit to the Heep Hong Sandy Bay facility.

"We saw firsthand the great work that they are doing with young people in various physical and learning capacities. These kids are amazing but they need some assistance in readying them for a society that can be challenging. As a club, we have resources that can provide Heep Hong with a type of support that they can not always find elsewhere. These are hopefully the first steps in creating a supportive and meaningful partnership with the organisations in our neighbourhood"

The families were met at the stadium by Beuzeval along with Club Administrator, Eleanor Cherry and Sandy Bay ladies reps, Emma Chung and Temmy Ting - who presented them with Sandy Bay playing shirts and escorted them up to the dizzying heights of the East Stand for a Rugby Sevens 101 introduction in Cantonese.

"It's moments like these that can bring a new sense of pride and humility to us all", said Emma. "I was delighted to meet these young people and explain to them about rugby and this tournament. I would definitely like to be more involved i the future."
