Dear members of the club,

As some of you may already know, our Club Head Coach Will Webster will be taking on a new and exciting challenge at MLR’s New England Free Jacks, as their Forwards Coach. This is a great opportunity for Will and we want to thank him for his hard work over the last 18 months, during the most difficult circumstance Hong Kong rugby community has ever faced. Despite these circumstances, Will and his coaching team still managed to put together a very competitive team, challenging for the top spot in the Men’s Premiership competition. Outside of the performance squads, Will has worked tirelessly to build bridges between all grades and sections within the club and beyond. He was also instrumental in making our first ever Sandy Bay Tag Rugby Tournament happened in August this year.

In the interim, Marno Meyer will be the caretaker head coach, leading his coaching team of Fai Mika, Mark Komar and Ian Wilson, along with team physio Jesper Wong to finish the job we have started. I have no doubt this fine team will get the boys to cross the finish line with glory to come.

Please join us this Saturday, 2pm at King’s Park where we will face Kowloon RFC for Will’s last game at the helm. We will have a small presentation after the game completes. Following the Prem’s action, the team and supporters will head over to HK Football Club to support a few of our U19 Girls’ as they will be featuring in the curtain raiser game before the HK National Women vs Kazakhstan at 4:45pm.

We will surely miss Will at the club, so please come along and send the man off with some hugs and cheers.

See you at King’s Park this Saturday.

Yours truly,

Wilfred “Chief” Lau

Seniors Chairman.
