Sandy Fort Barbarians team has first outing.

Our joint B team with Valley Fort had its first come together against a huge SSP side on Sunday. (huge in numbers and the size of the players). A difficult start, with 4 tries down at half time. In the second half they really stepped up and it was 4 tries each making the score 8 tries to 4 in favour of SSP. Considering this was the first time Sandy Fort players got together and the constant changes by SSP in the matches, we can be proud of our efforts today. A big thanks to Valley for organising the shirts which made a difference for player confidence and team spirit.

The second match saw the Premiership team play against Valley Fort. It was a real nail bitter! We started really well, scoring 3 fast tries, but went to sleep making basic errors letting Valley back into the game. Some good defensive work and a set piece try at the end secured the game and a 31-22 win.

A great start to the season, some positives and plenty to work on for future matches.
