As the closing of the decade and year dawning, all rugby teams across Hong Kong will, with no doubt, be putting everything on the line. Following the strong momentum during the season, the vikings were confident, well drilled and determined. With the previous week's fixture forfeited by Kerry Hotel Kowloon 2, the break was well used by coaches Thierry Barot and Ian Wilson; mentally and physically preparing the Vikings.
Herbert Smith Freehills HKU Sandy Bay Viking head to Sports Row to play HKFC Dragons to battle for the seat atop the Saxo Markets Men's Premiership A table. With both teams plump with 25 points apiece, things were tight. To add an extra level of spice, the game was worth double points. Still weary from the only loss this season, the Vikings will not allow for the previous result to occur. The challenge was clear; performance around the field and dominance in the contact area.
The squad remaining similar to the previous weeks, Salafai Mika leads the battle harden and blood thirsty vikings into battle. With a few additions to the bench with vikings debutantes William Webster, Mark Komar and Jasmeet Singh.
With both the club and vikings playing for the top of the table for both leagues, against the same club. Head coach Brett Wilkinson and Thierry Barot will both be pushing their teams to push off the table leaders and end the year on a high note for their teams and club! The Sportsman's Bar will be punished when the giants are toppled; Thierry's Football Club, if taken, will rack up one of the highest bills in a while.
Come down and support the Premiership and Vikings team as they play for the top seat. With the Prems kicking off at 4:45pm and the Vikings directly after at 6:20pm, the evening will be filled with electric rugby.
