After only a few days in between Sandy Bay u14 girls were back playing the Football club - this time at home.
It was a fiercely competitive match right from kick off. Caroline Skoett put in some fantastic rucking and was integral at moving the ball forward - and after 15 minutes Ella Steenson scored the first try for Sandy Bay.
Just before half time the FC got the better of our defense and with the try converted we were 5-7 down at the whistle.
The second half started well again for SB with the girls fired up. Sammy Wilkinson was full of energy and Grace Eathorne was always there scooping up the ball and running the ball down field. A badly rolled ankle meant Caroline had to retire for the day - a big miss for the girls. Further tries by Hinano Waugh and Jennica Narag were only enough to draw - disappointing but still some great performances full of spirit and determination.
