The end of the regular season is near and the U14G team has to stay on top of their game to come out on top of the League. One slip-up and HKFC1 is waiting in the shadows to take the top spot. Looking at the results throughout the season, the DBP/FK team has been a more difficult opponent to play compared to HKFC1. They are playing very physical, so we knew this game would not be easy.
After a few runs back and forwards Jennica Narag managed to get the first try of the day. DBP/FK then managed to get one back after pushing hard up the middle and the teams were even. It took 2 tries from Samantha Wilkinson to seal the win and especially the last try was a beauty. Final score 15-5. This was the first match in the League where we didn’t manage minimum 4 tries – so no extra point.
All in all, a tough match and it took a lot of hard work for our defense to keep the opposite team at bay. Many of the girls were totally exhausted after the game.
Congratulations to Zoe Blennerhassett for participating in her first match. Well done.
