McSorleys Match Report - Storm 13/Oct/2018

Legend has it that Gai Wu Fawkes have, in the previous seasons given Sandy Bay a good thrashing. This past Saturday, however, Storm landed on the scoreboard first thanks to a huge team effort all around, with scrum half Eve Caplowe eventually getting over the try line. Storm failed to convert their try and despite putting up a defensively sound and offensively aggressive fight, conceded three tries to Gai Wu throughout the remainder of the game. The front line and rest of the scrum put in tremendous work through a number of injuries and the backs put into practice their folding and plugging. Caplowe had to come off the field, as well as an injured Harriet Jamieson, and Storm's replacement scrum half Tiffany got a particularly subjective yellow card towards the end of the second half. Sarah Molles and Shawn McRae both made their first appearances for the team and Adie Theron and Genevieve Simmons both returned from the land of the injured to help give Gai We a run for their money.
